Our volunteer Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight in support of No More Noise’s mission to create healthier, calmer communities. Together, they bring expertise from technology, finance, business, and the non-profit sector to help guide the organization’s continued growth and impact.
John Day
Chair
John Day is a technology and security professional with more than 25 years of experience as a business owner, specializing in the design of security systems for public and semi-public spaces. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of technology, privacy, and public safety, developing innovative solutions for network security, system assurance, and life safety applications.
A passionate advocate for thoughtful urban living, John brings a strategic perspective to the Board informed by his interests in technology, public policy, and community resilience. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys software programming, jazz music, swimming, and cycling.
Richard Rysak
Treasurer
Richard Rysak is a finance professional and fractional Chief Financial Officer with decades of leadership experience across both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. A former CPA, he previously served as Director of Finance for the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, an incubator of urban environmental solutions in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, and the Pembina Institute, one of Canada’s leading environmental think tanks.
Richard brings extensive expertise in financial management, governance, and organizational strategy to the Board. A lifelong urbanist, he enjoys sailing, skiing, cycling, and staying active at the gym and in the pool.
Sue DeGrandis
Secretary
Sue DeGrandis is a small business owner and experienced non-profit leader with expertise in fundraising, administration, and governance. She has dedicated many years to supporting community organizations through both board leadership and volunteer service, including Gems of Hope, Welcome Baby, and Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke.
Sue has also served for more than six years as a volunteer mentor with Futurpreneur Canada, helping aspiring entrepreneurs across Ontario build and grow their businesses. In recognition of her longstanding commitment to community service, she received the Community Volunteer Service Pin from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. In her free time, Sue enjoys practicing Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging.
Ingrid Buday
Founder & Executive Director
Ingrid Buday is the Founder and Executive Director of No More Noise, where she leads the organization’s mission to raise awareness of noise pollution as a critical public health issue. Drawing on her experience as a community advocate and her corporate background, Ingrid has built a strategic, community-driven organization focused on research, public education, and policy advocacy.
Inspired by her previous work advocating for safer streets and cycling infrastructure, Ingrid recognized the widespread impact of environmental noise on health and quality of life and founded No More Noise to drive meaningful change. Under her leadership, the organization has built an engaged and growing community, collected valuable data to support advocacy efforts, and secured early fundraising support to demonstrate the need for action and advance its mission.
Outside of her work with No More Noise, Ingrid enjoys cycling and spending time in her garden.
